Water for survival
Man can live without food for weeks on end but water is one of life’s necessities. Without water, you won't survive for more than a few days. Under normal circumstances, the human body loses two to three litres of water per day. This moisture is lost via the skin, respiration, the kidneys and intestinal system. This needs to be compensated by drinking plenty of water.
What happens when you don't drink enough water?
Reduced performance:
2% moisture loss can reduce performance by 20%.
Loss of concentration:
Your brain is 90% moisture and reacts very sensitively to loss of moisture. Loss of concentration and memory loss can then quickly occur.
Tiredness and lack of energy:
If your organs and brain do not have enough moisture, you will feel exhausted.
Joint pain:
Water keeps your joints working smoothly. A lack of moisture leads to aching joints.
